Explore the work of Steve McQueen and create your own films

Interested in learning how to make your own video art? Join this session in the studio with contemporary artist Jennifer Martin. You'll learn the practical skills of making video, inspired by the innovative and poignant work of Steve McQueen. Work with peers to write scripts, create a scene and film short video portraits.

The workshop will begin with a special tour of the Steve McQueen exhibition. The tour has been put together by Tate Collective Producers and features work from the last 20 years. Working with Martin, the workshop is a space to experiment with peers and share ideas. The artist will also share their career pathway and practice, demystifying what it’s like to be an artist today.

Look out for other events in the Tate Collective series. You can learn hands-on skills in photography, film, weaving, sound, sculpture, digital making, print making and illustration.

Exclusively for Tate Collective.
