The Feminist Library returns to Tate Exchange with a two-day programme paying homage to Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp. We will be creatively exploring ideas of home, migration and the connections between movements, past and present.
The Feminist Library’s curation team have worked together to create a makeshift ‘campsite’ space inspired by Greenham Common. Join us throughout the weekend to take part in workshops and discussions, drink tea, read books and zines and see material from Greenham from our archive. The weekend gives a chance to remember and learn about the movements of past, and to look forward, as the Feminist Library prepares to move to a brand new home in Peckham.
A programme of workshops and events throughout the weekend will include reading groups in English and Spanish, drumming, and drop-in making activities for all ages.
In the Southwark Room, the Feminist Library presents 1983 documentary ‘Carry Greenham Home’. Drop in to see the film on loop throughout the weekend.
On Saturday visit the unique Mobile Feminist Library van outside Tate Modern’s South entrance all day.
Also on Saturday from 12.15-16.15, join 'Waves and Voices', a creative writing workshop with Sina Sujatha Schwache (MSc). The workshop finishes with a chance to perform your piece. (This workshop is free but booking is required, email emma@feministlibrary.co.uk to secure your place. Open to women & non-binary people aged 18+. We particularly welcome BAME participants).
