A Closer Look

Katy Hessel looks at the Huguette Caland Exhibition

For our August 'A Closer Look', Katy Hessel, founder of @thegreatwomenartists, will talk in response to the Huguette Caland exhibition. Hessel has initiated several curatorial projects to celebrate and readdress the presence of historical and contemporary women artists.

Hessel has led talks and lectures for The Courtauld Institute of Art, Cambridge University, Pallant House Gallery and Christie's Education. She has presented films for Barbican Centre, and audio for Selfridges department store. Recently, she has curated exhibitions at galleries including Victoria Miro, TJ Boulting, Palazzo Monti and Mother London, and in February 2019 an area of Tate Modern for their February Tate Late.
