Leap Then Look (artists Lucy Cran and Bill Leslie). Photo by Colin Davidson

Join us for a performance in the gallery devised by artist duo Look Then Leap

Each hour, throughout the afternoon, dancers will perform a new choreography created by Leap Then Look in collaboration with dance-artist Becky Horne, which explores the shapes, weight and feel of their interactive sculptures through gesture, rhythm and voice.

Over the past year Leap then Look have been exploring the work of Barbara Hepworth and created new interactive artworks inspired by her ‘dancing plinths’; plinths with wheels that Hepworth used to move her sculptures. The new works can be found in our October half term STUDIO DO, and invite visitors of all ages to explore the ways our bodies interact with sculpture.

We are grateful to local community group Transparent Presence for working with us as practical testing consultants in the development of this project.

Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
