Join us for a discussion with artist Mikhail Karikis

Mikhail Karikis is a Greek/British artist based in London and Lisbon. His film Children of Unquiet (2013–14) is showing in Gallery 10 this season. This film was created with children living in the Devil’s Valley, Italy, a volcanically-active region that inspired Dante’s Inferno, and which is now a source of geothermal power. Karikis’s film orchestrates a speculative children’s take-over of an industrial village abandoned following the automation of the power plants. The artist and Giles Jackson, Assistant Curator, Tate St Ives will discuss the themes of Children of Unquiet, as well as Karikis’s wider practice.

All welcome to this informal talk.
