Following our recent Community Open Days, we are delighted to share this open invitation to attend one of our free public consultation events to discuss the transformation of the Palais de Danse.
Come along to discuss the updated plans with Adam Khan Architects and Tate curators and share your thoughts and questions on the future of this historic building ahead of submitting our planning application in July.
The event will take place in the courtyard of the Palais de Danse, where light refreshments will be served. You will also have the opportunity to see inside parts of the original building, including the celebrated dance hall.
We will be offering tours of the neighbouring Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, giving you the chance to explore the full breadth of Hepworth’s life and work in St Ives.
If you have photographs or memories of this historic building in the heart of St Ives, please bring them to share. We’d love to hear from you.
The consultation is open to all local residents, businesses and any interested parties in the future of the Palais de Danse, so please share with your friends and neighbours!
Due to limited capacity, booking is essential.
Tate St Ives has been awarded development funding towards the transformation of the Palais de Danse from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, made possible by National Lottery players.
The project to transform the Palais de Danse has also received support from a number of trusts, foundations and individuals, including The Headley Trust, The Bowness Family, The Hepworth Estate, The Porthmeor Fund, and The Bridget Riley Art Foundation.
About The National Lottery Heritage Fund
The National Lottery Heritage Fund is the largest funder for the UK’s heritage. Using money raised by National Lottery players, the Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities to heritage. Its vision is for heritage to be valued, cared for and sustained for everyone, now and in the future. From historic buildings, our industrial legacy and the natural environment, to collections, traditions, stories and more. Heritage can be anything from the past that people value and want to pass on to future generations. The Heritage Fund believes in the power of heritage to ignite the imagination, offer joy and inspiration, and to build pride in place and connection to the past.
