See the exhibition before the gallery opens to the public

We know it can get busy in St Ives, so we've made time for you to enjoy Patrick Heron and the Modern Art and St Ives display before the gallery opens to the public.

Patrick Heron is one of the most significant and innovative figures in 20th century British art. The exhibition is the first major showing of his work for over 20 years, bringing together large-scale paintings never before shown at Tate St Ives.

From Heron’s early work in the 1940s to his last paintings from the 1990s, it will show the full evolution of his vibrant abstract paintings and offers a unique opportunity to explore this modern master’s sense of scale, colour and composition.

Modern Art and St Ives features artists such as Ben Nicholson, Peter Lanyon, Barbara Hepworth, Piet Mondrian, Naum Gabo and Mark Rothko.
