Behind The Scenes

Conserving Frames

Discover how picture frames at Tate are looked after

A bit of background

In this film we take a look behind-the-scenes with Lead Frame Conservator, Batoul Algasra. We speak to Batoul about looking after picture frames at Tate, the importance of framing artwork and her favourite thing about her role.

The painting in the frame that Batoul is repairing is J.M.W. Turner's View of Orvieto, Painted in Rome 1828.
