Description

In this letter Ben Nicholson returns to commenting on Hodin's article on action painting particularly with regards to J.P. Hodin's usage of the terms 'greatness' and 'humility'. A private view invitation for Nicholson's exhibition at Kestner Gesellschaft, Hannover is included. Nicholson also adds a P.S about the 'terribly sad...news of Peter' and that he would like to take part in a 'funeral acknowledgement'. This would suggest Nicholson is referring to Peter Lanyon who died in 1964. This p.s. was found attached to other pages of this letter which clearly date from an earlier period [c February 1959].
