Available online are Armitage's letters to Moore from soon after they first met in 1938 to the end of the 1950s. For much of this period Armitage taught sculpture at the Bath Academy of Art, following his military service during the Second World War. Armitage began to establish his reputation at this time, holding his first solo show at Gimpel Fils in 1952 and participating in the Venice Biennale in both 1952 and 1958. His letters reflect on his artwork, his teaching and colleagues, and on his relationship with Moore.

Details of the remainder of the collection can be found on the Archive catalogue.
