T01668 Jeune Femme en Robe blanche
(Girl in a White Dress) c.1908
Not inscribed
Pastel on cream paper, 12 5/8 x 9 1/2 (31.8 x 24.2)
Presented by Roberta González 1972
The costumes in this and the two drawings T01675
and T01644, with the waist at high or natural level and the posture upright, indicate a late date and according to Mrs. Ginsburg are unlikely to be earlier than 1908. (Joan González died at the end of March that year). These drawings therefore provide a key to his late style and confirm a late dating for landscapes such as T01669
and nude studies such as T01670
and T01671. With the exception of T01644, all are executed on paper of the same size and type, possibly sheets from the same sketchbook.
