Catalogue entry
N05950 STANDING NUDE c. 1925
Inscr. ‘Moore’ t.r.
Pen and chalks, 22×9 1/2 (56×24).
Purchased from the Hanover Gallery (Grant-in-Aid) 1950.
Coll: (?) Arnold Haskell; R.E.A. Wilson, sold to K.J. Hewett, c. 1949; sold to Hanover Gallery 1950.
In a letter of 3 September 1957 the artist wrote that he thought the date of this drawing was 1925, though an earlier note in the Tate Gallery's files dates it 1923–4; it is similar in character to a number of drawings made in the later 1920s, e.g. T00059 (see also those repr. Read, 1944, pls. 113–15, and Read and Sylvester, I, 1957, pp.172–7).
