Display caption
This study began with energetic line work in pencil, over which Romney worked with pen and ink lines drawn equally loosely, before attacking the sheet with a brush loaded with ink. He has used rhythmical sweeping lines to describe the form and shadows, almost scribbling onto the surface with the brush.
