Exh: R.A., 1908 (1971), as ‘Portrait of a Lady - bust, marble’.
This bust was commissioned by the husband of the sitter, Asher Wertheimer the art dealer, in the same way as he commissioned portraits of his family from J. S. Sargent, R.A. The bust was exhibited anonymously at the Royal Academy in compliance with Asher Wertheimer's wishes. For Mrs Wertheimer see Sargent N03706.
