Catalogue entry

Finberg thought this probably a view near Matlock, an opinion supported by the suggestion at the top right of the drawing of a rocky gorge, which may be Matlock Dale; see the itinerary copied on folio 4 recto (D00210), and folios 25 recto, 26 recto and 27 recto (Tate D00232–D00234; XIX 24, 25, 26).
Verso:
Blank; stamped in black ink with Turner Bequest monogram bottom left.
