Inverted in relation to the sketchbook as foliated, the pencil studies on this page depict scenes of Dieppe including its castle, beach, and roofline. This sketchbook features multiple views of Rouen suggesting that these drawings were also made in Normandy. Turner commenced his 1826 tour of France at this harbour town.1
