Catalogue entry

This page contains two sketches relating to Turner’s route through Savoy during his return journey from Italy to France. The upper vista depicts a distant view of Mont Cenis in the Cottian Alps, seen from the north (French) side of the pass. A similar view can be found on folio 21 verso (D16682). The lower scene meanwhile, represents the prospect looking south-east in the direction of Termignon.
