Catalogue entry

In the distance can be made out a tower with trees to the left and a hill beyond. This resembles Leathley, not far from Farnley Hall, the seat of Turner’s patron Walter Fawkes, which Turner sketched in the Large Farnley sketchbook (Tate D09055; TB CXXVIII 39).
