Catalogue entry

This sketch is likely to have been made from above the village of Rosemarkie on the Black Isle. Looking over the rooftops from the road above the village, the view is to the south-east with Rosemarkie Bay at the right and Fort George to the left. Turner made a sketch from nearby with Rosemarkie church in the foreground on folio 62 (D27126). For references to all of Turner’s views of Fort George see folio 6 (D27054).
