Here is a cave or tunnel entrance in the cliffs on the beach at New Brighton, Merseyside. Looking north from the beach at the right of the page is the New Brighton Fort with the lighthouse behind it. There is a clearer view of the two structures and more information on folio 4 (D25768).
For information on Turner’s visit to Liverpool see folio 1 verso (D25763).
