Catalogue entry

There are two sketches on this page of Edinburgh’s North Bridge. At the top is a view from the eastern side of the bridge looking north towards the New Town with the tower of St Andrew’s Church (see also folio 87; D26426). Running out of room at the top of the page, Turner drew the top of the steeple separately to the right of the sketch.
At the bottom of the page, drawn with the sketchbook inverted is a second view of the bridge, this time looking south towards the Old Town. To the left of the bridge is a building where the Scotsman building now stands.
