Catalogue entry

Rendered summarily with fluid pencil line, here Turner shows a sweeping meander of the Moselle with a village at its banks on the right. Flecks of chalk highlight certain features of the landscape and reflections are rendered in the very same white to evoke the crystalline transparency of the waters.
