Catalogue entry

The drawing is inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation. The lightly sketched Thames bridge is possibly the old structure at Hampton Court, seen close up on folios 40 recto and 42 verso (D20793, D20798; CCXXVII 38, 40a). For other adjacent sketches around Hampton Court, see under folio 2 verso (D20736).
