Architecture tour of Tate Britain with Rod Heyes

13 December 2013 at 18.30–20.00
17 January 2014 at 18.30–20.00
Floor being built at Tate Britain

We invite you to discover the newly refurbished spaces at Tate Britain. The tour covers both the oldest parts of the Grade II* listed building and the new rooms created for display, education and social activities. The complex history of the building is placed in the context of London’s architectural development and the technical and creative challenges of the project will be explored.

The tour is led by Rod Heyes of Caruso St John Architects: the practice charged with Tate Britain redevelopment. Rod Heyes is a partner at Caruso St John and prior to leading work at Tate Britain he was project architect for the Brick House, Chiswick House Café and the refurbishment of the Barbican Concert Hall. He has lectured widely in the UK and has taught at the University of Bath and Kingston University and currently runs Diploma Unit 12 at London Metropolitan University.
