As part of the Aspire programme and for this academic year only, all workshops at Tate Britain will reflect on and respond to the work of John Constable through the lens of contemporary artists practice. Workshops are designed to encourage students to engage with art, culture and ideas and voice their thoughts, aspirations and opinions in unique and diverse ways. In the unique setting of Tate Britain workshops are led by artists who work at Tate over the course of a year and give students and teachers the opportunity to encounter historical, modern and contemporary artwork together.

We take a radical approach to engagement, inviting students to learn about themselves and others through being with art within the public gallery space. These conversations will be different and unpredictable but are always designed to encourage individuals to ask questions, form opinions and take ownership of the gallery.
About Aspire
Aspire aims to encourage audiences of all ages to enjoy and learn more about the work of John Constable by touring Salisbury Cathedral from the Meadows 1831 across the UK, supported by Art Fund, and by National Lottery players through the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
- There are two workshops in each time slot per day (strict maximum of 16 students per group)
- Timeslots are 10.30–12.00 and 13.00–14.30
- Each school can book up to two workshops per term
- Groups must sign in at the gallery’s Schools Desk 20 minutes before the start time
