Please join Deaf Guide Martin Glover for a tour of Antony Gormley: The Model Room. This display reflects the artist’s radical approach to ‘the body as place’. Gormley is interested in exploring the relationship of the human body to space by replacing anatomy with architecture. Among the materials used are wood, plastic, foam, metal, wire, wax and plaster. Some of the models have gone on to form the basis of finished works. Gormley has described the tables as raised beds showing different ways of growing things … There is no end to the possibilities.
