Make historical works feel relevant and engaging for students with special educational needs and disabilities

Make historical works feel relevant and engaging for students with additional needs. Join artists Richard Phoenix and Aysen Aktu to explore both the historical and contemporary collection at Tate Britain through hands on, practical and sensory approaches to learning. This session will bring works to life in the context of the Aspire programme, and:

  • Support you to consider how art can impact on classroom practice and promote imaginative and creative possibilities for young people
  • Explore hands on, practical and sensory approaches to learning
  • Provide you with the opportunity to make and talk alongside the art work, collaborating with other colleagues who work with young people with SEND in a variety of settings.

About Aspire

Aspire aims to encourage audiences of all ages to enjoy and learn more about the work of John Constable by touring Salisbury Cathedral from the Meadows 1831 across the UK, supported by Art Fund, and by National Lottery players through the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
