Join us for a unique opportunity to hear about conservation directly from our Conservation team. As part of this tour, you will go behind the scenes to the conservation studios and laboratories at Tate Britain.
The work of conservation focuses on managing, preserving and enabling access to our collections in both physical and digital formats. Whatever the material or medium, our team's role is to understand it and how it behaves to ensure long-term preservation of the collection.
The tour will focus on the Conservation Science and Preventive Conservation laboratories and the studios of Paintings and Frames Conservation.
Tate Britain's step-free entrance is on Atterbury Street. It has automatic sliding doors and there is a ramp down to the entrance with central handrails.
There is a lift between the Lower and Main floors. Alternatively you can take the stairs.
- Accessible and standard toilets are located on the Lower floor.
- A Changing Places toilet is not currently available.
- Ear defenders can be borrowed from the ticket desk on the Lower floor.
