Story Space Halloween Read Aloud with Flavia Z. Drago

21 October 2023 at 14.00–15.30
a drawing of a vampire

Meet author and illustrator Flavia Z. Drago and get to know Vlad, the fabulous Vampire

For this special half-term Halloween edition of Story Space, meet the author and illustrator of Gustavo, the Shy Ghost, Leila, the Perfect Witch and Vlad, the Fabulous Vampire. Hear about a vampire’s quest to be himself, find his community and embrace his love of pink, and other stories from the same monster universe.

Make your own paper doll of Vlad, and experiment with different outfits through our dress-up activity. You might even want to showcase your creations through a fashion show!

Recommended for children aged 5 – 12 years, but families of all ages welcome.

In partnership with Walker Books.

Flavia Z. Drago is a New York Times #1 bestseller whose work is influenced by her Mexican heritage. She has an MA in Children's Book Illustration from Cambridge School of Art, was shortlisted for the 2018 Sebastian Walker Award and won the 2021 Klaus Flugge Prize. She loves colours, textures, and shapes and enjoys creating them with different materials and a bit of digital sorcery. She lives between the UK and Mexico.
