VerbalEyes: finding a voice through art gives schoolchildren the opportunity to explore art and language using the Tate collection.

Over 400 children and their teachers from seven primary schools in the London boroughs of Newham, Greenwich and Westminster are involved in the project. Two classes from each school work with artists and writers on a project over the course of two weeks, during which they visit Tate Britain, investigate different elements of art and language and create a final piece of artwork.

The final pieces from all the projects are displayed in this special exhibition at Tate Britain, on display from 9–24 June in the Clore Gallery Foyer and other locations around the gallery.

The participating schools this year were:
Newham: Drew Primary School, Grange Primary School and Scott Wilkie Primary Schools.
Greenwich: Ealdham Primary School and Cherry Orchard School
Westminster: Soho Parish CE Primary School and Burdett-Coutts CE Primary School
