John Singer Sargent, Dorothy Barnard c.1887. Tate.

Join us for an introduction to sketching in Tate Britain's galleries with artist and art historian Frank Wasser

Learn the key skills and techniques for sketching and gain a unique look at some of Britain's most prominent artists, from the Romantic era Turner to the surrealist Eileen Agar. Make your own sketches of some of the major works of sculpture in the collection.

The sketching session includes materials to take home with you, including a set of Winsor & Newton: John Singer Sargent Sketching Pencils, produced in collaboration with Tate.

This session is for adults aged 16 and over.

Tate Britain's Manton Entrance is on Atterbury Street. It has automatic sliding doors and there is a ramp down to the entrance with central handrails.

Accessible and standard toilets are located on the lower floor. Changing Places toilets are currently not available at Tate Britain.
