DIY Fabric Printing Inspired by Francis Bacon Part of Vintage on the Dock

9 July 2016 at 12.00–18.30
10 July 2016 at 12.00–18.30
DIY Fabric Printing Inspired by Francis Bacon

Join us for for a DIY fabric printing workshop inspired by Francis Bacon

Sufea Mohamad Noor invites you to make your own hand printed fabrics using bubble wraps, lolly sticks and the humble potato among many other things you can find around the house! At this workshop, we will be using basic shapes to create geometric patterns and block of colours inspired by the cages and jewel-like colour pallet that Bacon used in his paintings.

Turn your fabric into an original wall hanging, headscarf or vintage neckerchief to take home!

Sufea Mohamad Noor is a creative producer who frequently delivers interactive public events as part of Tate Collective and regularly exhibits her artwork in local as well as international shows. In the past, she has also printed fabrics for Assemble and the Granby Workshop. Sufea is currently printing a series of scarves inspired by the Brutalism movement for a charity auction to help the homeless.

This workshop is part of the Vintage on the Dock festival, find out more about the programme here: http://www.albertdock.com/events/event/vintage/
