The Creative Act Led by Michael Atavar

19 October – 30 November 2015

How can you build a dialogue with the art and artists of the Tate collection to activate your own creativity? And what can you find out about yourself in the process?

Over six sessions, Michael Atavar explores the process of creativity – starting a practice, finding your vision, collaborating with others, discovering outcomes.

Each week, explore the galleries of Tate Modern after hours using a range of games and exercises in order to reveal how similar techniques might be used by artists from the collection.

The focus is on practical activities that expand your potential and encourage your creativity, both during the sessions and outside, in the world. How might you share information, work with other participants and generate your own experiments?

This course is for those interested in developing creativity but not necessarily currently activating their own creative practice.

Led by artist and creative consultant Michael Atavar, author of How To Be An Artist, 12 Rules Of Creativity, Everyone Is Creative and the creative card system 210CARDS (a collaboration with Miles Hanson).
