Explore artistic identity and self-expression with Trinity Laban Music and Dance students and Voices in Motion, one of four groups that form Trinity Laban’s creative programme for older people, Inspired not Tired.
You are invited to join these two groups as they encounter each other for the first time in Tate Exchange. Led by composer and vocalist Natasha Lohan and dancer and choreographer Bethan Peters, the group will collaboratively reflect on their own and each other’s artistic identity. Using a combination of improvised movement and singing, they will create a response to Tate Exchange artist Tim Etchell’s provocation: ‘The most important exchange is with the unknown’. Ideas from both groups, as well as your input in joining the event will be used in creating their collaborative response.

15:30 – 17:00 – (observe and reflect on the theme of artistic identity)
Voices in Motion will also present their new installation work An Exchange with Louise, a response in voice and movement to the ARTIST ROOMS: Louise Bourgeois display.
The project will extend beyond this initial encounter at the Tate to form part of Trinity Laban’s CoLab Festival, a two week creative learning experience where students from both music and dance disciplines share new ideas through collaborative projects.
