Make your own monument in response to Kara Walker’s fountain at a session for neurodiverse visitors

At this relaxed session designed for families with additional needs we explore themes of sustainability and protest. Make your own monument in response to artist Kara Walker’s Hyundai Commission, Fons Americanus. The event will be supported by volunteers and artist Natasha Trotman.

Be inspired by the things that matter to you. Try out different ways to design your own mini monument in our maker lab. Play with materials, recycling, 3D modelling and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) in a maker lab.

The session was co-designed with the Institute of Imagination. It is part of Digital Making: Mini Monuments.

About

The Institute of Imagination exists to create space to re-imagine our world, together. The aim is simple – to empower everyone to develop vital skills for the future and support wellbeing. In our workshops, children, families, schools and adults from across London and beyond can experiment, explore ideas, invent new products and build skills using new tools and technologies spanning the arts, sciences and digital technology. The Institute of Imagination collaborated with Tate on the Imagine If Festival in 2018.
