In Conversation with Soft Play's Laurie Vincent

10 July 2025 at 18.30–23.00

hector michalopoulos

Soft Play's Laurie Vincent joins host Giles Bidder for a special live recording of cult music podcast 101 Part Time Jobs at The Corner

This event offers a personal angle into Laurie Vincent's creative process in music and visual art - as well as his friendship with Robbie Williams.

101 Part Time Jobs is the interviews podcast that unearths the graft and resilience of artists in an uncertain time for music. Giles Bidder interviews guests about the gumption and work ethic that drives them to create, defying the odds of an ever-changing industry to ensure that the show can go on. Guests have included IDLES, KNEECAP, Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, Denzel Curry, Self Esteem, Tim Heidecker, The Last Dinner Party, Lauren Mayberry, Crowded House & many more.

On their fourth album Heavy Jelly, Soft Play are at their most primal yet perceptive. Recorded over a year between The Tunbridge Wells Forum, Laurie’s garden studio, on tour, and finished at The Libertines' Studio, the album is refreshingly sharp, comical and heavy.

The Corner will also be host to a guest tap by Signature Brew for the duration of the series
