Join us in exploring creative learning in education

What is making as learning, and how is learning made? How do we learn through making, and where is your learning horizon?

Plymouth College of Art and Plymouth School of Creative Arts invite you to to explore creative learning over three days of events. Drop in, observe, ask questions, take part in our open forum and leave your thoughts in our diary room and graffiti wall.

Pop-up School

Drop in to our Pop-up School and contribute to our shared understanding of how learning is made.

A group of students, staff, parents and practitioners from Plymouth are setting up a school in Tate Exchange to explore new horizons in their creative learning. They will explore Tate Exchange and the museum environment as a place of exchange, trust, generosity, openness – and risk – as they follow their creative inquiry in the public gaze.

What will you make of this? What can we learn here? And what’s your role from now on in making learning?

Making Learning Symposium

Alongside the school, our symposium takes the form of invited provocations and open debate. Plymouth College of Art, Plymouth School of Creative Arts and invited guests explore the transformational potential of creative learning and the future of arts education.

Making is as important as reading and writing, or mathematics and science. Our theme is a call to activism: if ‘power separates people from what they can do’, then what shall we do?

This event is programmed by Plymouth College of Art, a Tate Exchange Associate.
