Following the success of previous Mr Bongo events at the Tate Corner Bar, we’re excited to welcome back the Mr Bongo Record Club. This evening features DJ sets by Gabriele Poso renowned for his acclaimed “Unspoken Sounds of Italian Tamburo” playlist and his deep involvement with Mr Bongo’s global musical explorations.
Expect an eclectic all-vinyl soundtrack drawing from the vast Mr Bongo archives and the record collectors’ personal troves spanning jazz, Latin, Brazilian, African, and soul sounds. The Mr Bongo Record Club series continues to grow its cult following with sublime compilations and this dedicated party brings those sounds to life in London.

It began in Venezuela 34 years ago, filling suitcases with amazing Latin records to bring back to Europe, and it has continued ever since; warehouse visits in the US, dusty basements in South America, garages in Africa, and secret spots in Europe and Asia. Through the label and our record shops, Mr Bongo unearth a seemingly bottomless selection of classic and contemporary Brazilian, Latin, African, jazz, soul, reggae and psychedelic flavours.
