Tate Modern opens its doors overnight for an exclusive event exploring the dreamlike world of Surrealism

Staying after-hours in our world-famous gallery, enjoy a host of activities designed to take you from late to the early hours of the morning. As the evening stretches on, you’ll enjoy DJ sets, hands-on workshops, alongside food and drink pop-ups. Include a visit to our Surrealism Beyond Borders exhibition after-dark with our combined ticket offer.

Experience the iconic Turbine Hall animated with atmospheric electronic sounds from DJs and musicians Laurel Halo, Alpha Maid, Damsel Elysium, programmed by Global Roots. We’ll bring the evening to a close with a soothing gong bath.

If you are attending Tate Modern Lates ahead of Tate Overnight you will need to exit the building at 22.00 and re-enter with your ticket via the south entrance

Pop-Up Bars

Turbine Hall and Level 1 Bridge

Enjoy craft beers, cocktails and food at our pop-up bars in the Turbine Hall and on the Level 1 Bridge. Drinks also available in the Terrace Bar on Blavatnik Building Level 1, and the Espresso Bar on Natalie Bell Building Level 3.

Tate Modern's entrance is via the Turbine Hall on Holland Street. There are automatic sliding doors and a ramp down to the entrance.

There are lifts to every floor of the Blavatnik and Natalie Bell buildings. Alternatively you can take the stairs.

  • Fully accessible toilets are located on every floor on the concourses.
  • A quiet room is available to use in the Natalie Bell Building on Level 4.
  • Ear defenders can be borrowed from the Ticket desks.

Visitor numbers are being carefully managed. There are increased cleaning regimes in high use areas, protective screens on desks and counters and hand sanitiser dispensers throughout the gallery.

To help everyone keep at a safe distance we are limiting and managing visitor numbers with tickets. You will be given individual packs or sanitised materials to use at creative workshops. Enhanced cleaning is in place and we’ll ask you to wear a face covering, unless you’re exempt.

  • Follow the one way route
  • Please wear a face covering unless you are exempt
