Department for Doing Nothing With John Hansard Gallery

6 February 2017 at 12.00–16.00
7 February 2017 at 12.00–16.00

Join us at the Department for Doing Nothing (DfDN) and explore what nothing is

Inspired by the Mass Observation Archive Report on Juvenile Delinquency (Willcock, 1949) and Tate’s Collection displays including Artist and Society, join board members and staff of the Department for Doing Nothing in its new premises at Tate Exchange to:

  • Think about doing nothing
  • Produce nothing
  • Investigate nothing
  • Participate in nothing

This event is programmed by John Hansard Gallery, a Tate Exchange Associate.

About the Department for Doing Nothing project

Led by the John Hansard Gallery, Southampton Youth Offending Service, Compass School and In-Focus Training Ltd, the DfDN project is supported by Artswork, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Winchester School of Art Research Centre for Global Futures in Art, Design and Media.

About the John Hansard Gallery

John Hansard Gallery is a world leading centre for contemporary art. It showcases innovative work by UK and international artists through exhibitions, off-site projects, research, publications, education and outreach programmes.
