Tate Modern Workshop

Studio Sessions Composing the Collective

17 August 2019 at 12.00–17.00
Participants observe workshop.

Dan Weill Photography

Get inspired by the work of Takis and make sound art through objects

Interested in making sound art? Join this session in the studio with contemporary artist Shenece Oretha to learn the practical skills of sound making, working with peers to produce a collective sound art piece inspired by the extraordinary work of Takis.

The workshop will begin with a special tour of the exhibition put together by Tate Collective Producers, exploring the electromagnetic nature of the universe by looking at the poetry of light, magnets and sound.

Working alongside Oretha, the workshop is an opportunity to experiment with peers and share ideas. The artist will also share their career pathway and practice, demystifying what it’s really like to be an artist today.

Look out for other events in the Tate Collective series where you can learn hands-on skills in photography, film, weaving, sound, sculpture, digital making, print making and illustration.

Exclusively for Tate Collective members, register for free today.
