Tate St Ives Workshop

Botanical Inks

21 November 2018 at 18.00–21.00
Botanical Inks workshop at Tate St Ives

© Babs Behan, Botanical Inks

Spend an evening experimenting with natural dyes and learning new textile techniques

In this 3 hour practical workshop you will learn about the textile technique of bundle dyeing using natural dyes foraged from local plants, seaweed and steam. You will learn the theory with a talk and demonstration and use these ideas on your own piece of organic silk.

Each person will have a 50 x 140cm length of organic British grown silk to make into a scarf and as part of the evening you will also make your own set of 5 eco gift cards using wild inks.

All of the required materials and equipment will be provided. You may wish to bring gloves or an apron and a notebook or camera. If you have any additional flowers and leaves you would like to bring to try bundle dyeing with, you are welcome.

We are in the process of updating our website and are currently unable to offer online bookings for this event. To book your ticket, call 01736 791101 or email stivesticketing@tate.org.uk
