Join us for this special Members preview.

Celebrate the opening of Ithell Colquhoun: Between Worlds with a special preview taking place after hours.

Explore Colquhoun’s enthralling works including writings, drawings, paintings, early theatre projects and mural designs, many of which have never been shown publicly before.

An iconic artist of her generation, Ithell Colquhoun was an important figure in British Surrealism during the 1930s and 1940s. This exhibition explores Colquhoun’s evolution from her early student work to journeys to Cornwall where she was inspired by the region’s ancient landscape. It also explores her fascination with sexual identity, ecology and occultism.

The exhibition ends with a room that displays Colquhoun’s interpretation of the Tarot deck – a blend of her artistic and magical practice.

Members must have Tate St Ives Extra Card to attend this event.

Add a Tate St Ives Extra Card for £12 and bring three guests for free! To upgrade call +44 (0)1736 791 101 (daily) or visit the gallery.
