Make, play, and rest in STUDIO DO with Leap then Look

This STUDIO DO we welcome back artist duo Leap then Look, artists Lucy Cran and Bill Leslie, who have transformed our Foyle Studio into a space for play, imagination and movement inspired by Barbara Hepworth.

In her St Ives studios, Hepworth kept her sculptures on plinths with wheels to freely move them around. Inspired by these ‘dancing plinths’, Leap then Look have created new interactive artworks exploring the ways our bodies interact with sculpture. You are invited to touch, play and move with the objects in this space.

The holiday programme, STUDIO DO, at Tate St Ives creates immersive installations and play-based activities that offer self-directed art experiences for children, parents and carers. Each STUDIO DO provides a space to test out making, experiment with ideas and take time out from the galleries.

You can explore the galleries with a free Sketchbook or activity card, or borrow our Explorer Backpacks and Tate Shapes activities to take with you around each space.

A durational performance will take place as part of this project on Saturday 24th October, find out more here.

Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
