Toddle Tate

A group of adults and small children playing with colourful toys in an art gallery space.

Come and play at our monthly multi-sensory sessions for under 5s

Play, explore, create and investigate art in these fun Toddle Tate sessions for children under 5 and their grown-ups. Have fun exploring the galleries and enjoy our Foyle Studio, which will become a space for multi-sensory play and exploring exciting materials.

Drop in anytime between 10.30 and 12.30.

Paint & Print

Experiment with paint and printing inspired by Liliane Lijn’s exhibition Arise Alive! Enjoy sensory and messy making, and immersive play in the gallery.

October

Leap then Look

A special edition of Toddle Tate, led by visiting artists Lucy Cran and Bill Leslie as artist duo Leap then Look. Explore their work through engaging with new ways of looking, making and thinking.

November

Sculpt

Squidge, build and smush with clay and explore materials to construct and connect, inspired by Modern Conversations at Tate st Ives.

February

Projection Play

Explore light and shadow! Enjoy tactile, sensory and immersive play and make art inspired by artist Emilija Skarnulyte.

March

Water Worlds

Splash, swirl and mix! and  Enjoy sensory and immersive play, inspired by artist Emilija Skarnulyte.

Tate St Ives is located on Porthmeor Beach. There is a ramp up to the gallery entrance alongside stairs with a handrail.

There are lifts to all Levels of the gallery, or alternatively you can take the stairs.

  • Accessible and standard toilets are on Level 3, next to Gallery 6.
  • A Changing Places toilet is on Level 3, next to Gallery 1.
  • Ear defenders can be borrowed from the information desk.
