Programme

Artist in Residence

Anna Farley in Your Space

Time: Throughout the festival

Location: Gallery 9, Level 2 (access from Gallery 7 on Level 3)

Your Space is an experimental environment for rest and learning created by autistic artist Anna Farley who will be resident throughout the festival. All visitors to Your Space are invited to contribute to this experiment which will evolve over time. Rest, read, draw, find your comfort.

Workshops

Story Studio

Time: 10.30–12.30 and 13.30–16.00

Location: Foyle Studio, Level 3

Have fun in our Story Studio with artist Felicity Tattersall and storyteller Gary Cordingley. Hear ancient stories inspired by artist Cansu Çakar’s New Rarities, on display in the Rotunda, and contribute to a collaborative drawing that will unfold across the festival, becoming a map of the real and imagined histories of those who take part.

Tate Collective Takeover!

Time: Throughout the festival

Location: Gallery 8, Level 2 (access from Gallery 7 on Level 3)

Tate Collective Producers are the young people’s group at Tate St Ives. This winter they take over Gallery 8, inviting the festival community to take part in creative activities inspired by the Małgorzata Mirga-Tas exhibition.

Participate

25SECONDTATE with artist Peach Doble

Time: Throughout the festival

Location: Gallery 7 Lift, between Levels 2 and 3

Enjoy the artwork and take part in a 25 second art challenge with artist Peach Doble in the Gallery 7 lift as it takes 25 seconds to move between floors. This project is by Create Club (formed by young people from Truro & Penwith Academy Trust: Cape Cornwall School, Hayle Academy and St Ives School) working with Doble. For anyone who prefers to take the stairs, you will be able to access a 25SECONDTATE challenge station on the Mezzanine between levels.

Slow Looking: Mark Rothko’s Seagram murals

Time: 15.30 on Saturday, 13.30 on Sunday

Location: Gallery 10, Level 3

Be curious, immerse yourself in Rothko’s Seagram murals and participate in conversations that generate collective interpretations of them, led by Susanna Webster. These light-hearted sessions are inspired by Look Groups, small gatherings of people who get together regularly in their own communities, to talk about art, artists, and ideas.
