Description

[Translation/transcription]

Polperro/Looe Cornwall

5. Dec

Dear Dr. Hodin,

This is to ask you whether you got my answer to your kind offer in matters of the art-museum at Goeteborg? I was away for a couple of weeks and so by mistake they sent me mail back to the senders. I wonder wether you have already something done in this case. As it is not allowed to send pictures, paintings, drawings etc from here during the war, I should become your debtor for so long. That is to say that the museum would get a good example of my art when peace 'breaks' out finally what does look quite like a miracle for that hard-tested Europe everywhere. But my sister and brother cannot hunger so long and your offer is to be meant for them directly from your country! Please do everything to help them.

Sincerely yours,

O. Kokoschka
