Description

[Translation/transcription]

4 December 1965

My dearest Master Hodinus

Many, many thanks for your lovely long letter, which has done me the world of good in this winter of discontent, endless rain, dark, cold and soon to be a hundred years old. Please let me know soon the results of your efforts regarding Swedish, French and Italian translations of your book about me so I can share your happiness with you. Regarding the lithograph for the Folio Society: they would have to come to some arrangement with Harry Fischer because I don't want to do anything that goes against his interests. He's done so much for me in the past that I can't hurt him now. The same goes for XXe Siècle in Paris. It's a shame I haven't written anything for Studio. I'd simply forgotten. I'd very much like to come to London again, but I'd have to find work there to pay for my expensive flat at the Hyde Park Hotel. Chatin had an idea, but nothing's come of it yet. And the weather's hardly inviting at the moment. Herr von Beauclair had published a beautiful edition of my portraits of Ezra Pound, which seems to be out of print already. Haven't seen him since. I would like very much to embrace you and the beautyfull one before I turn a hundred years old. Until then I and also Olga send you and all your friends our heartfelt Christmas greetings and best wishes for the new year.

With enduring love from your ever devoted OK
