Description

[Transcription/translation]

‘translation’:

my dear peter!

wanting to live as a ‘giant’ among men is asking a lot! but rather gigantic than depressive!

i’d had it up to here with everything (or many things). i’m feeling better now – thanks to the change of scene – if not well enough to work, but that will come with time.

i’m indebted by your words… and having pulled myself together i shall try to settle at least part of that debt by transferring 100 pounds to your account.

work on the catalogue will certainly go on for a little while longer because there are a few documents i don’t have with me. i’ll have to send them from marrakech.

by the way, i may well decide to keep the chronology back for the next project – a chronology that will be even more accurate while also foregoing a degree of precision (my beirut experience!). i hope you won’t mind if i use the text of the biographical chronolgy next time.

dear joseph, i’m just reading back over some of the lines you’ve written, and i really am touched. the strength of your voice, put down feverishly, without hesitation… it’s comforting, moving, thought-provoking.

‘now try to live by that’ … i shall do what i can. i promise!

p.s. i’ve bought your brühl’sche terrasse [brühl terrace] and will read it later. leaving tomorrow for cologne, paris – marrakech.

Gee.
