- Letter from Vanessa Bell, Charleston, East Sussex, to Duncan Grant, London, declining to attend John Maynard Keynes' party for those involved in the Ballets Russes production of 'The three-cornered hat', with designs by Pablo Picasso. She discusses her servants, and has been painting 'Still life with apples in a bowl' (c. 1919), based on 'Apples' (1917), painted at Wissett. Also mentions Angelica, Julian and Quentin Bell, Nellie Brittain, Roger Fry, Marie Moralt, Mr and Mrs Pitcher, Miss Richardson, and James Strachey.
